    1997

    The Red Lyon Tavern and the Lawrence Dart Association present the second annual Summer Weekly Dart Tournaments. The tournament will be held every Monday evening beginning June 16, 1997 through August 18, 1997 at the Red Lyon Tavern 944 Massachusetts St., Lawrence, Kansas. Sign up is between 7:00 and 7:30 p.m., and play starts at 7:30. Tournament format will be determined by the number of entries, and will be one of the following: blind draw partners (double or single elimination) or singles round robin.

    The entry fee is $2.00 and the Red Lyon will match each entry fee.

    Payouts:

    50% to first place

    30% to second place

    20% to third place

    Separate skill pots(optional) for high '01 flight: $1.00 entry

    high '01 out: $1.00 entry

    high cricket points $1.00 entry

    must stay to the end of play to collect - any uncollected pots will be donated to the LDA.

    5th Annual Toys for Tots
    Charity Steel-Tip Darts Tournament
    Saturday, December 7, 1996

    Location: Rick's Place Bar & Grill, 623 Vermont, Lawrence, KS. (913) 749-5067.

    $10 donation or new toy of equivalent value as entry fee.

    100% of the entry donation goes to the Douglas County, KS Toys for Tots organization.

    The tournament is sponsored by the Lawrence Dart Association and local Lawrence merchants in association with Sunflower Cable 6 and the Salvation Army. All ages and skill levels welcome for this fun tournament.

    Plaques for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, plus an all day raffle of prizes donated by local merchants. The format is blind draw doubles/double elimination. Best 2 out of 3 matches. 301 double start/double finish; 501 straight start/double finish, and cricket. All ADO tournament rules apply.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    The Lawrence Dart Association (LDA) is in Lawrence, Kansas. Lawrence is half-way between Kansas City and Topeka, and is on Interstate 70.

    We currently have 13 teams and about 70 members. We play every monday night, with play starting at 7:30 pm. We have 2 seasons, fall and winter, each running about 12 weeks. During the summer, we have weekly cash pot tournaments, and every year we have the Toys for Tots tournament in December and the St. Patrick's Day tournament in March.
